February 16- February 20

Dear Family Member:

 This week we are reading Mole and the Baby Bird. Mole helps a baby bird that falls out of its nest. He wants to keep it as a pet. His mother tells him the bird is a wild animal and wants to be free. I wonder what will happen to the bird. I’m learning about the characters in a story and about the plot. The plot is what happens.

Comprehension: identify character and plot

 Concept Words: position words 

Phonics: f, o
 Can you give me a word with the letter o? What about a word with the letter f? Now let’s try to fi nd as many words as we can that have both the letters o and f in them.

Unit 5 Animals


Dear Family Members:

This week we are reading Animal Babies ABC. There is an animal baby for every letter of the alphabet! We are learning how to put things into groups. We figure out how things are alike and different so we can group them. For example, in this book, some animals hatch from eggs. Mothers give birth to others.

February Happenings " Stone Soup"

Our little friends have been busy with some serious stuff !! Our reader's theater for Stone Soup was an exciting and enriching experience for our Kindergartners. They practiced hard and were able to put on a great show. Some pics from the day.
